KOHLER, Wis. — The Immigrant Restaurant, the Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four Diamond dining institution located at Destination Kohler, the Midwest’s only Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond resort-hotel, has been awarded the coveted number-one spot in USA TODAY 10Best.comReaders’ Choice Awards in the “Best Hotel Restaurant” category. Readers were asked to vote for their favorite hotel restaurant from a pool of 20 nominees chosen by a panel of relevant experts, industry awards and guest reviews.

The crown jewel of Kohler’s celebrated culinary program, The Immigrant Restaurant is rich in character and historic elegance. The layout is designed in six spaces, representing the nationalities that populated Wisconsin in its early days (French, Dutch, German, Normandy, Danish and English), creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere, which is complemented by contemporary American cuisine and modern European influences. The seasonal and evolving menu ensures that each dish is made with the freshest and finest ingredients, and is accompanied with an extensive vintage wine and spirit list. The lauded restaurant is also a recipient ofWine Spectator’s “Best of Award of Excellence.”

Kohler Waters Spa, one of only 47 Forbes Five-Star spas worldwide was ranked number two in the “Best Hotel Spa” category. The luxury spa is known for its expertise in hydrotherapy and innovative approach to water-based treatments.
The American Club, once home to European and Russian immigrants who came to work for the Kohler Co. in 1918, the world-class destination was voted number seven in the “Best Historic Hotel” category. The iconic property is one of 52 hotels in North America to be both AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star rated.
Nominees for the 10 Best Readers’ Choice Award are selected by a panel of experts, which include a combination of editors from USA TODAY; editors from 10Best.com; relevant contributors; and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties. Rules allowed the public the right to vote online for one nominee per category, per day, over a four-week period.
