Start Now Before It's Too Late!

Contributed By: David Vanderheiden

The last piece that I wrote talked about the basics of nutrition.  I do want to inform you all that I started working with a client a week before I wrote that.  She changed her eating habits to what I wanted her to do and she dropped 8 pounds in one week.  It was amazing to see, but you can really see how making good choices with your food and mixing fitness in there can make a big difference.  You cannot expect 8 pounds a week, but just seeing her face when she stepped on the scale was why I do what I do.

Along with nutrition I have talked about finding your motivation and how to set realistic goals.  I really want to talk about starting now before it is too late.  The longer you wait to start a healthy lifestyle, the more issues that can come up.  It doesn't matter what age you are, starting now is your best option.  Every client I have worked with has said that they wish they would have started sooner and not waited.  I don't want that to be you.

So what can happen if you wait too long?  Well, many things can happen.  First off is becoming obese.  Obese for men is a body fat percentage of 25% or more and for women it is 32% or more.  Generally as the percentage goes up, so does your weight.  As your weight goes up, everyday tasks can become more and more difficult.  As that happens, we can become more sedentary and it can continue to get worse.

As your body fat percentage goes up, medical issues can start to show their ugly face.  You can see things like blood pressure issues, cholesterol levels rising, risk of diabetes and chronic heart disease.  This starts to get more and more serious.  It doesn't matter if you are 21 or 80, if you don't take care of yourself things get more serious and much more expensive with medical bills.  That's why you need to start now and not later.

I am going to close with a couple thoughts. DO NOT be afraid to ask for help.  I am a certified personal trainer and I have the knowledge and experience to help you get going.  I have had many success stories with my clients and you could be the next one.  My passion is to help people reach their fitness goals and help improve and extend their quality of life.  Asking for help from me and making an investment now in your health can be priceless for you down the road.  Do not wait until it is too late!  Let's start now!  Come into Xperience Fitness in Green Bay and we can get this going and I will guarantee your success!

Be better today than you were yesterday!  Be better tomorrow than your are today!
